Ⅱ. Learning steps

Step 1 : Revision

T:  There are lots of places of interest in Beijing .Do you still remember their names ?

Ss:  Yes .

T:  What are they ? What can we do there ?

S1:  The Palace Museum .We can take a look at the things people used in the past there.

S2:  The Summer Palace .We can walk around the big lake and feel the beauty of the old park in it .

S3: Laoshe Tea House .I like to drink special Beijing tea there.

S5: …

T:  Well done ! Beijing is so beautiful that Kitty and Daniel want to invite all their classmates on a trip with Linda .Let’s help them write an invitation letter.

Step 2 :Assign the tasks

T: Group1 deal with Part1 ( The important phrases and sentences );

Group2 and Group3 deal with Part2 ( Answer the questions );

Group4 deal with Part3 (Fill in the blanks on P54);

Group5 and Group6 deal with Part4 (Plan a day out for Liu Xiang);

Group7 deal with Part5 (How to write this kind of invitation letter);

Group8 and Group9 deal with Part6 (Use the information in Part4 to write a new letter).

Ss: (Have a discussion in groups and help each other. Then show them on the blackboard .)

Step 3: Show and improve

Group1：

S1:  go back to…∕return to…意思为：返回到……，但请注意：返回家为return home 省略to。另外，return还有归还的意思，例如：把书归还给我return the book to me ∕give the book back to me 。

S2: as soon as possible 意为：尽快。结构为：as +adj∕adv +as possible =as+adj∕adv+as sb can.例如：Come back as soon as possible∕you can .尽快回来。

Group2:

S1: How many places of interest are they going to visit ?

S2: Four.They are the Palace Museum，Baihai Park，Tian’anmen Square and Wangfujing Street.

S3: How will they get to the Palace Museum from Sunshine Underground ?

S4: They take a bus there.或者They go there by bus∕on a bus.注意这里可以用动词短语也可用介词短语表示乘车去某地。

S5: What will they do in Beihai Park ?

S6: Go boating and have lunch there .

Group3:

S1: What will they do at Tian’anmen Square ?

S2: See the biggest city square in the world, see the People’s Heroes and visit the People’s Great Hall.

S3: How much time will they spend there?

S4: For about 3hours.

S5: When will they go back to Sunshine Town ?

S6: At 6.30 p.m..

Group4:

S1: Please look at the words on the blackboard and check the answers on Page 54.

Group5 :(Make a short passage for the plan. )

S1: Look at the plan on the blackboard .In the morning we will take Liu Xiang to Hunan Road first .We will go there by under ground at 8.00a.m..We want to enjoy different kinds of snacks there and shop on the famous business street .

S2 : One hour later ,we are going to Jiming Temple by bus .It’s an old temple .There’s something interesting in it .We also want to have special vegetable dishes for lunch .

S3: Please remember a plan includes time, place and activity .

T: It’s wonderful to give us this conclusion. Thank you!

Group6 :(Make a dialogue to show the plan)

S1: Liu Xiang is coming .Where shall we go that afternoon?

S2: I think Liu Xiang may be tired after the 11^th National Games. It’s good for him to enjoy the beautiful view .So we will go to Dr. Sun Yet-sen’s Mausoleum. We can climb the mountain and see the mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yet-sen as well.

S3: Sounds great !How long can we stay there?

S4: About one and a half hours .

S5: Where else are we going ?

S6: The Temple of Confucius. It’s the most famous place in our city .We can go boating there and enjoy lots of delicious food .

Group7:

S1: Please turn to Page 54.The letter has eight parts. Do you know what they are?

S2: It has Date, Name of receiver ,Purpose of the letter, Plan, Cost ,Instructions, Closing and Signature(s) .

Group8 and 9:

Write the article on the blackboard.(Learn something new in it and help to correct it .)

T: You all did a good job !看来大家已经很好地掌握了如何写信邀请同伴去游玩，除了注意信的格式外，还要写明何时、何地做何事。

选用所给词组的适当形式填空。

S2：第二题除了考查句意外，还要注意be busy doing sth,所以答案为：planning a day out .

S3:没人能算出这道数学难题，应填work out .句中注意短语ask …for help 向某人求助。

S4:常州恐龙园是一个游玩的好地方。答案是a fun place to visit.

S5:故宫位于北京市中心。应选the center of Beijing .另外lie in 的意思是：位于。
